Thank you for choosing The Considerate Practice. We aim to provide high-quality, personalised foot health care. These Terms form the basis of your agreement with us. Please read them carefully.
1. The Agreement
1.1 These Terms & Conditions form the agreement between you and The Considerate Practice (“we”, “us” or “our”).
1.2 By registering with us and booking a Foot Health appointment, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1.3 If any conflict exists between these Terms and other written materials, these Terms take precedence. If there is any conflict between these Terms and our Privacy Policy, these Terms take precedence, followed by the Privacy Policy.
1.4 We may update these Terms occasionally. Updated Terms apply only to future appointments, not to treatment already in progress.
2. Registration & Information Accuracy
2.1 You must ensure that all information provided at registration – including contact details and medical history – is accurate and up to date.
2.2 You agree to update us promptly if your contact details or relevant information change. We cannot be held responsible for missed communications if outdated details are held.
3. Appointment Process
3.1 All appointments include an initial assessment to determine your suitability for the service booked.
3.2 It is your responsibility to ensure that the appointment type selected is appropriate for your needs.
3.3 We reserve the right to decline or modify services where:
(a) it is not safe or clinically appropriate,
(b) the booking type is incorrect,
(c) the service requested falls outside our scope of practice.
4. Payments & Fees
4.1 Unless otherwise agreed, full payment is required either at the time of booking or on the day of the appointment.
4.2 We accept the following payment methods:
(a) Debit or credit card
(b) Bank transfer
(c) Cash
(d) Cheques are not accepted.
4.3 Where payment plans are in use (e.g. via GoCardless):
you are responsible for maintaining the plan for its full duration,
cancelling a plan early requires the remaining balance to be paid immediately.
4.4 Any outstanding balances must be cleared before further appointments can be booked.
5. Payments by Third Parties
5.1 If a third party (such as an employer, charity, sponsor, or community group) has agreed to fund your appointment, written confirmation must be received before the appointment takes place.
5.2 You must provide any information requested to verify the arrangement.
5.3 If the third party fails to pay within 30 days, the outstanding balance becomes your personal responsibility.
6. Cancellations, Lateness & Non-Attendance
6.1 If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 48 hours’ notice.
6.2 Fees may apply for:
(a) late cancellations,
(b) non-attendance without notice,
(c) repeated booking failures.
6.3 If you arrive late, your appointment may need to finish at the original end time. We may be unable to see you if doing so would impact other clients.
6.4 Repeated non-attendance may result in us being unable to accept future bookings.
7. Clinical Assessment & Treatment Planning
7.1 Your Foot Health Practitioner will assess your condition and determine the most appropriate course of treatment.
7.2 You must ensure your treatment plan accurately reflects your wishes and your understanding of the appointment.
7.3 You agree to provide a full and accurate medical history. Withholding relevant information may affect the safety and suitability of any treatment provided.
8. Clinical Risks
8.1 We will always aim for the best possible outcome, however:
(a) no clinical procedure is entirely without risk,
(b) results and outcomes cannot be guaranteed,
(c) healing times vary significantly between individuals.
8.2 We will discuss any relevant risks with you before proceeding with treatment.
9. Home Visit Appointments
9.1 Home visits are available within a 5-mile radius of Faringdon only. Bookings outside this area will be cancelled or rearranged.
9.2 Patients may select a preferred timeslot; however, we reserve the right to adjust appointment times to allow for safe, efficient travel planning and routing.
9.3 Any adjustments to your appointment time will be communicated to you as early as possible.
10. Bespoke Items
10.1 If bespoke items such as orthoses, offloading devices, or specialist materials are ordered for you:
(a) full payment is required at the time of ordering,
(b) bespoke items are non-refundable once ordered.
11. Children & Treatment
11.1 Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who:
(a) provides consent for treatment,
(b) accepts responsibility for payment,
(c) remains present throughout the appointment where appropriate.
12. Confidentiality
12.1 We treat all personal and medical information as strictly confidential, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12.2 We ask that you also respect the confidentiality of any information you may encounter during visits or shared clinical spaces, including the identities and circumstances of other patients.
13. Data Protection
13.1 We process your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy.
13.2 By registering or booking with us, you consent to your information being used to deliver the foot health services you have requested.
14. Safety, Conduct & Professional Boundaries
14.1 You agree to behave respectfully during all appointments and communications.
14.2 We reserve the right to decline or discontinue services in circumstances including, but not limited to:
(a) inappropriate or abusive behaviour,
(b) safeguarding concerns,
(c) professional boundary violations,
(d) repeated non-compliance with these Terms.
14.3 Any such decision will be explained clearly to you.
15. Right to Decline or End Services
We may postpone, modify, or decline services where:
(a) it is clinically unsafe to proceed,
(b) information provided is incomplete or inaccurate,
(c) practice policies are not being followed,
(d) respectful and professional engagement cannot be maintained.
16. Liability
16.1 We will always deliver services with due care and professional skill.
16.2 No clinical service can guarantee a specific outcome.
16.3 Our liability is limited to the direct provision of foot health care. We are not responsible for outcomes arising from decisions made outside of our clinical recommendations.
